Traditional asphalt shingles have disadvantages. Here at Rubber Flat Roof, we sell a more impenetrable seal – EPDM rubber roofing.
A problem with shingles is that they are not completely watertight on a rubber roof. This means that if they are on a flatter roof, gravity is unable to do its job to create an entirely waterproof seal against leaks. This is because water can easily be blown back underneath the shingles on the flatter roof, causing leaks.
EPDM rubber roofs are perfect for being installed on low-sloping or flat roofs due to them being durable, pliable and waterproof:
- Rubber roofs are perfect for the places where asphalt shingles just do not work as well.
EPDM rubber roofs are more economical:
- In the short term, rubber roofs are not the least expensive way to reroof. However, in the long term they are the most ideal choice and our EPDM rubber roofing is guaranteed to last a minimum of 20 to 50 years.
Rubber Roofing or SPF Roofing?
- Sprayed Polyurethane Foam (SPF), should not be confused with EPDM Rubber Roofing; they are two very different products. SPF is sprayed onto the roof as a liquid, it must be recoated much more regularly and can tear very easily if hit with tree limbs or flying debris. SPF roofs also often attract birds or even rodents like squirrels who like to bury acorns in it – causing leaks.
