It is worth carrying out a roof maintenance inspection of your rubber roof after rain, high winds or hail to see how well the water is draining away.
When carrying out a rubber roof maintenance inspection, the first things to look out for are:
- Tears
- Punctures
- Sagging
- Holes in the membrane

- Look out for debris such as sticks and leaves – be sure to clear them! While leaves may appear fairly harmless, they can clump together and begin to rot, potentially rotting and damaging the membrane beneath it. If you are to clear debris during your rubber roof maintenance inspection, be sure to take the necessary safety precautions to avoid potentially fatal injuries.
- Check the joints and seams of your roof for any seams or gaps, if you are to come across any during your rubber roof maintenance inspection - fix them. Gaps could potentially allow water to seep in and go underneath the membrane, potentially damaging the roof underneath which would eventually lead to water leaking through the roof into your home below.
- It is also sensible to inspect the perimeter of your roof to ensure that all of the edges are secured with wall flashings, flashing tapes or the Quicktrim system. Gaps may also lead to the roof breaking down if the Quicktrim is not correctly joined to the roof.
