Joining two sheets of EPDM
Joining EPDM Sheets using Cover Tape / Seam Tape
Cover Tape / Butt Join
- Stir the QuickBond Primer before pouring it into a small plastic container
- Apply Primer evenly to the RubberCover EPDM membrane either side of the join, avoiding any puddling
- In the event of rain or condensation, stop applying primer, do not close the seam and wait for better atmospheric conditions before applying a thin layer of primer
- In the event that the Cover Tape is not correctly aligned, cut the strip and make an overlap of at least 25mm with the strip that has already been installed. Apply a Corner Flashing Patch along any overlap of two Cover Strips.
- Any wrinkles must be removed and repaired with a piece of Corner Flashing.
Installation:
- Position the RubberCover EPDM sheets side by side, one against the other. The distance between the edges of the two sheets must not be greater than 10mm.

- Using the Scrubpad, apply primer to both sides of the seam area, covering a minimum of 100mm to both sides and leave to dry.
- Position the Cover Tape along the seam area. Remove the protective backing at a 45° angle and roll out using a silicone roller.

Seam Tape / Overlap Join
- Ensure you have a minimum 100mm overlap with your EPDM Membranes
- Mark 15mm beyond the upper sheet as a guide for priming
- Fold back the upper sheet (seam tape can be used to tack this back)
- Prime the base and underside of the EPDM overlapping areas (allow to tack-off)
- Apply the Seam Tape to the lower membrane and roll using seam roller
- Release the folded, upper membrane and ensure seam tape is showing
- Remove the protective film and roll overlapping membrane into the seam tape
