EPDM rubber flat roofing has been the sole choice of many prestigious roofing contractors for over 30 years, due to its longevity, weather resistance and ease of installation. At Rubber Flat Roof we would like to make the same level of quality available to all homeowners across the United Kingdom. Gone are the days of installing a new felt roof every few years because the weather has got to it, it has been damaged, or it has deteriorated beyond repair. Our mission is to educate as many people as possible on the much higher value for money which they can receive when using EPDM roofing materials, instead of the much lower quality material – felt.
New to Rubber Flat Roofing and you’re not sure what you want? Do not worry! We have a state of the art EPDM Rubber Flat Roof Quote Tool, which will work out the exact materials that you will need for your project! Just input the size and other details of your roof and our EPDM Rubber Flat Roof Quote Tool will do the rest.
Lifespan of your EPDM Rubber Flat Roof
We have a warranty of 20 years on our 1.2mm thick EPDM membranes and a warranty of 30 years on our 1.5mm thick EPDM membranes, although our roofs do have an expected lifespan of up to 50 years. You can rest assured that you will not have to worry about the durability of your EPDM rubber flat roof, nor will you live in fear of not having a watertight house.
The EPDM Rubber Membrane
Our EPDM rubber membrane is available in a large sheet format and can be cut to almost any domestic roof size as a single waterproofing membrane. This means that there will be fewer joins or cuts in your EPDM rubber roof, meaning your roof is much less likely to leak! Unlike felt or other membranes in a roll format, you will not have to join the membrane, which will also reduce the installation time. Another benefit of installing a rubber roof is that you do not need to use an open flame which reduces the risk during installation. EPDM rubber roofs can be fully adhered to your roofing boards using either water-based adhesive or contact adhesive creating a very strong bond onto most substrates.
Due to its flexibility, you can feel safe in the knowledge that our EPDM rubber material will be able to adapt to your building. As you are probably aware, buildings often expand and contract depending on the heat and moisture throughout the year, but with an elongation of 400% EPDM rubber membrane has been designed so that it moves with your building, meaning that whatever your building goes through, your EPDM rubber flat roof will ensure that it will remain waterproof all year round.
Not only are our EPDM rubber membranes waterproof, they are also UV stable. The technology which has gone into the creation of our EPDM rubber membranes has ensured that the sun will not affect it, therefore however hot or exposed your roof is from the sun, you will not have to fear that it will dry out and crack or become brittle like other flat roofing materials are prone to do!
To complement Rubberall EPDM we also supply a range of Quicktrim roof edge trims. These roof edge trims are available in either black or white and are very simple and quick to install, ensuring that your EPDM rubber flat roof will have a clean, quality finish.
Installing your EPDM Rubber Flat Roof
Our rubber flat roofs are much easier to install than other flat roof systems as they are fixed using adhesives and can be adhered to most substrates. EPDM rubber can be joined when necessary using a Seam Jointing Tape or Cover Tape and most roofing detail work can be completed using a Flashing Tape and Primer system.
Installation of a rubber flat roof does not require specialist tools and can be installed by competent DIY installers. However, if you have a number of EPDM Rubber roof projects then there are a few helpful tools wish you may wish to consider which would help to give a more professional finish every time.
So whether you require a flat roof system for your porch, extension, dormer, garage, shed or any number of other structures that you may wish to waterproof, EPDM Rubber Roofing membrane is certainly a long-lasting and simple to install option that you should be considering!
